Action Engine

You’ve found the bottlenecks and identified the inefficiencies in your processes. Now, the Action Engine allows you to do something about them instantly. Instead of just viewing static data, you can use the Action Engine to operationalize your findings, sending proactive recommendations directly to your team so they can resolve issues the moment they arise.

In a traditional analytical setup, you might spot a problem but lose time communicating it to the right person. The Action Engine bridges that gap:

  • Proactive intervention: You don't have to wait for someone to check a dashboard. The system detects "Signals" (like a discount about to expire) and alerts the right person immediately.

  • Reduced manual effort: You can automate the "search" phase of work, allowing your team to focus entirely on the "resolution" phase.

  • Direct execution: You can trigger actions—like sending an email or updating an ERP record—directly from the Celonis interface, ensuring a seamless flow from insight to results.

Before you begin

Before you dive into configuring your first Skill, ensure you have a solid grasp of these three foundational pillars:

Pillar

Description

Data Model

Ensure your underlying Data Model is refreshed and contains the attributes needed to identify your business logic.

User Routing

Think about who should receive which Signal. You can route tasks based on Data Model columns (like Region or Vendor) to ensure the right person gets the job.

Action Logic

Determine what the user should do once they receive a Signal. Will they open an SAP transaction, send an email, or simply view a popup?

Suggested next steps

Follow this roadmap to move from initial setup to a fully operationalized action strategy, ensuring every insight results in a measurable outcome.

  • My Inbox: Navigate the business user perspective where you will manage and resolve your daily Signals.

  • Skill Configuration: Learn how to define the triggers that create Signals from your data.

  • Routing Rules: Set up the logic that ensures the right tasks land in the right "My Inbox."

  • Action Configuration: Define the specific buttons and automated steps your users will take to close a loop.
