Step 1: Configure source data locations
The Optimization Engine can ingest as source data:
Objects in the data pool where you’re working with objects and events (the OCPM Data Pool or another if you have multiple object-centric data models enabled). The objects must all be in the same perspective, and therefore in the same data model.
PQL expressions from KPIs or calculated attributes in a Knowledge Model. You can use KPIs or calculated attributes from a premade Knowledge Model for a business app, or create a Knowledge Model to support your use case.
In this step you’ll need to provide:
The ID of the data pool where you’re working with objects and events, and the ID of the data model for the perspective for your business process. The optimization model will get objects from this location.
The ID of the Studio space where you’re working, the ID of the Studio package in that space that contains the Knowledge Model, and the ID of the Knowledge Model itself. The optimization model will get KPIs and calculated attributes from this location.
The IDs that you need to specify are the asset IDs, which are in the browser URL when you access the asset. Here’s how to find them:
Data Pool ID and Data Model ID: Go to the data pool where you’re working with objects and events. By default, this is the OCPM Data Pool, but if you’ve enabled multiple object-centric data models in your Celonis team (see Using helper objects in an object-centric data model) access the data pool you’re working in. Select the Data Models section, and find the data model that was created when you loaded the perspective for your business process.
In this example, the first ID in the URL (after the
pools/
keyword) is for a data pool, and the second ID (after theprocess-data-models/

Space ID, Package ID and Knowledge Model ID: Go to the Studio space where you’re working, select the Studio package, and expand the package structure till you see the Knowledge Model, then select it.
In this example, the first ID in the URL (after the

keyword) is for the Studio space. The second ID (after thepackages/
keyword) is the package ID. The third ID (after thenodes/

To configure your source data locations in the Optimization Engine UI, go to the Source Data Configuration section of the Optimization Engine page and fill in the IDs in the appropriate fields.
