Using the Objects and Events catalog

While you can configure your own object-centric data model (OCDM), an efficient way to begin modeling objects and events is by using the Celonis-provided core processes in the Catalog. These core processes include predefined object types, event types, relationships, and perspectives for your selected process, which you can use to explore the Process Intelligence Graph and build content with Celonis Platform features such as Studio.

The following core processes can be enabled and configured for your team within the Catalog:

  • Accounts payable

  • Accounts receivable

  • Inventory management

  • Order management

  • Procurement

Accessing and using the catalog

To access the catalog from the Objects and Events dashboard, click Catalog:

You then have access to the following features:

  • Celonis provided core processes: Enable, configure, or disable the Celonis-provided core processes. See: Enabling core processes.

  • Celonis provided core process version: Displays the version of the Celonis-provided core processes currently used by your Objects and Events dashboard.

  • Auto-update: Enable Auto-update to automatically apply new versions to all Celonis Catalog processes. Auto-update is off by default and, when enabled, suppresses update notifications on the dashboard.

If you disable auto-update, a notification indicates when a new version of the Celonis catalog comes out, and you can choose to update manually.

  • Release notes: Provides a link to the latest release notes for the version you are using.

Manually updating the catalog

Important

Updating the Celonis Catalog version changes the object-centric data model in your development environment. This may introduce behavior changes or new attributes. Full details of the changes are listed in the release note for that version.

When a new Celonis Catalog version is available, an update message appears next to the current version on the Objects and Events dashboard.

To update your catalog:

  1. Click Update.

  2. Review the release notes and acknowledge the disclaimer about how updating the catalog impacts your existing content.

  3. Click Update catalog.

  4. After the update completes successfully, verify the object-centric data model in your development environment.

    • Verify core model: Check object types, event types, relationships, and transformations against the release notes.

    • Review customizations: Ensure any added attributes or relationships are still correct and relevant.

    • Check transformations: Confirm partial/full overwrites remain appropriate; for full overwrites, populate any new attributes with SQL as needed.

  5. To use the latest catalog version, create a version of your object-centric data model and then deploy it to development or production.

    See: Versioning and deploying OCDM.
