Configuring settings for the object-centric Inventory Management Starter Kit
Use the object-centric Inventory Management Starter Kit’s Validation Cockpit to configure the variables that are used in calculations for KPIs (key performance indicators). The values that you set in the Validation Cockpit are used for the Knowledge Model variables in the Inventory Management Starter Kit’s Knowledge Model.
Tip
After you publish the Starter Kit for the first time, changing the settings in the Validation Cockpit’s Settings view in Studio doesn’t change the corresponding settings in Apps. After publishing, you’ll need to work with the Validation Cockpit in the Apps area in order for the values of the settings to be applied for end users. It’s best to keep the two sets of variable values in sync so that your results in Studio match those in Apps.
Here’s how to work with the Validation Cockpit in Studio:
In the Celonis navigation menu, select Studio.
Find the Inventory Management Starter Kit (Object-centric) in your Studio space navigation.
Expand the package’s structure using the arrow.
Select the Validation Cockpit.
Work through the validation screens, using the Settings buttons to update the values of any variables that you need to. If you haven’t selected a value, the Starter Kit is using the default value.
Tip
When you’ve finished setup and the Starter Kit is in use by business users, to avoid accidental changes, consider limiting the availability of the Validation Cockpit. You could restrict these to a specific group of business users who are responsible for making adjustments to the variable values.
Here’s the runtime variables that you can set in the Validation Cockpit, and their associated KPIs.
Variable ID | Description | Default | Associated KPI |
---|---|---|---|
replenishmentLeadTimeCalc | Calculation mode for replenishment lead times | Average | Parameter_ReplenishmentLeadTime_AverageMedian |

daysOfCoverBackorders | Whether backorders are considered for days of cover | Do not consider | Parameter_DaysOfCover_DueDate |
purchaseLeadTimesWithGRProcessing | Whether goods receipt processing time should be part of purchase lead time | Consider | Parameter_PlannedPurchaseLeadTime_GoodsReceiptProcessing |
materialAvailabilityPlanningStrategy | Planning strategy to be excluded from material availability considerations | '20' | Parameter_MaterialAvailability_ExcludedPlanningStrategy |
materialAvailabilityMRPType | MRP types to be considered for material availability | 'PD', 'R1', 'VM', 'VB', 'VV' | Parameter_MaterialAvailability_MRPType |
initialStockFloor | Minimum value for a material's initial stock | Do not consider | Parameter_InitialStock_Floor |
serviceLevelDueDate | Date against which service level is computed | Confirmed | Parameter_SalesOrder_DueDate |
serviceLevelEarlyBuffer | Buffer for early delivery in service level calculations | 2 | Parameter_OnTimeDelivery_EarlyBuffer |
serviceLevelLateBuffer | Buffer for late delivery in service level calculations | 1 | Parameter_OnTimeDelivery_LateBuffer |
turnoverRateDemand | Scope of demand considered for turnover rate | Finished Goods only | Parameter_TurnoverRate_ConsideredInput |
Note
In the object-centric Inventory Management Starter Kit, currency conversion isn’t controlled with runtime variables. Use the Knowledge Model variable Parameter_Currency to set the display currency for the app.
